I have always felt especially called to be a lawyer. To help people in the most difficult, and sometimes confusing, times of their lives. Having served literally thousands of clients over 27 years of practice, I am thankful to have been given the opportunity to serve in this way. Whether a case involved complex litigation, a jury trial, an appeal, a "friendly" suit (such as an adoption), or transactional work, I approached each case with the desire to help a client "get in and get out"; that is, accomplish the task at hand as quickly and efficiently as possible. I made it a point to apply all of my education, training and experience to resolve the legal problem at hand. Obviously, some matters take more time than others, but whether it could be accomplished in days or months, the client's best interests were always at heart. I take the Texas Lawyers Creed seriously, and believe that all parties involved in the legal process, whether it is my client, the opposing party, the opposing lawyer, the judge, or court staff, deserve to be treated with dignity and professionalism. I believe that the recognition that has been given me by the legal profession, and groups that I have worked in and with, reflects that philosophy. And, God willing, I will be able to continue practicing law in the same way for many years to come.
